Personal Care
If required our carers will be pleased to assist with the individuals personal care needs in our fully accessible wetroom. An unhurried approach in the stylish wetroom not only helps with personal care but helps maintain independence and promotes positive self esteem. Our visitors can also access chiropody and hairdressing by appointment at Orchard House. Our treatment room has a state of the art relaxing massage chair available to all our visitors also.

We believe that good nutrition is central to good health but at Orchard House we also ensure that mealtimes are an enjoyable occasion to look forward to. A 3 course meal in the attractive dining area overlooking the garden is the highlight of many of our visitors day. Special diets can be catered for and assistance is available if required as well as a range of adapted cutlery and crockery to promote independence.
Therapeutic Activities
Throughout the year a calendar of events for visitors to participate in is available at Orchard House. Like mealtimes these events are also an opportunity for the individual to meet and socialise with other visitors. A variety of hobbies and crafts are pursued, some visitors enjoy taking up a new pursuit others will stick with an old favourite. In addition to arts and crafts and quizzes we enjoy regular musical events and fundraising.
The large enclosed garden is a favourite spot on a sunny day to sit and relax or where keen gardeners can get hands on in the kitchen garden and keep a watchful eye on our resident chickens. Another regular visitor to Orchard House is our young springer spaniel ‘Hugo’, he is keen to give all our visitors a warm welcome. The benefit of therapeutic activities cannot be over–estimated both in encouraging individuals to keep physically and mentally active, our visitors would also agree that laughter is definitely the best medicine!
Care Review
Multi-Disciplinary re-assessment of need can be conducted in our private meeting room to ensure that each individual is receiving a planned approach to care. These regular reviews with the involvement of the individual and their families aim to promote health, well-being and continuing independence.
